Pisa Tour By Bike : The Road To The Sea

Our family of 8 vacationed in Tuscany and we rented cars and drove to Pisa. Elena and her staff were so welcoming and gave us excellent treatment. We had an issue with one of the bikes at the beginning of the path to the sea and she came riding up in just a few minutes with a replacement bike. We rode to the sea and the path was so beautiful and peaceful and we ate lunch and rode back. We also toured the city of Pisa on our bikes and saw all the sites. It was scary at first because I am 63 years old and riding in a bustling small city is not something I ever thought I could do at my age, but my husband and I kept up pretty well with the our 30 something kids. No one got hurt and it was so much fun. We rode about 20 miles (a conservative estimate) for the day. I highly recommend bring bottled water and a jacket. Make sure to ask for a basket on your bike if you want to bring stuff or shop at the sites. The shop dog, Vanity is the sweetest! As soon as I walked in to the shop she leaned on my legs and made me pet her. It warmed my heart because our 17 year old dog passed a way the day before we left from California to our Italy destination and I was instantly reminded of how special our furry friends are. Organizing a bike ride for 18 people is not for the faint of heart. Elena and her staff were incredibly helpful in outfitting our family of 11 adults and 7 small children. We ended up with 9 touring bikes, 1 tandem, 2 baby seats, 2 baby trailers and one co-pilot attachment. It was no small feat to get everyone ready to ride, but Elena’s staff was immensely patient with the chaos and so encouraging. Despite our large procession of bikes, finding the trail was easy and, once on the trail, the ride was magical. Seeing the countryside all together on bikes was one of the highlight of our trip! The weather ended up being perfect, the scenery breathtaking and the stops at the old basilica and in the beach town for gelato were unforgettable. Elena’s recommendations for gelato and dinner in Pisa after our ride were spot on - perfect for our big group. We’re so glad we chose this outing to make some wonderful family memories!

The owners are a wonderfully people. They are very helpful, friendly and easy going people. Renting the bike was easy and simple. Also on the same time we have all instructions where to go and what to do.

Need a day off from seeing the sites, looking for a break the tourist attractions? Then this outing is for you. An easy cycle from Pisa to the sea and back. Good fun for all. Full marks to the proprietors for friendliness and service.
